Greeting for the “Next Environment” Collaborative Creation Course: Becoming a person capable of creating and forming a recycling-oriented society
The "Next Environment" Collaborative Creation Course, a human resource development project of the Doshisha-Daikin "Next Environment" Research Center, is a program to foster human resources with new perspectives and technologies that can drastically solve environmental problems through collaboration between Doshisha University and Daikin Industries, Ltd.
In recent years, realizing a sustainable society has become urgent as the world's population grows and energy demand increases. The "Next Environment" Collaborative Creation Course will broaden students' perspectives by addressing ethical issues related to the environment and the effects of the environment on human development, physiology, and psychology, as well as providing opportunities to participate in innovative projects related to global environmental issues, such as the development of renewable energy technologies and technologies to recycle carbon dioxide. The program also provides opportunities to participate in innovative projects related to global environmental issues, such as developing renewable energy technologies and technologies to recycle carbon dioxide.
The course is designed to go beyond traditional academic disciplines. It integrates knowledge from the natural sciences with the humanities and social sciences, enabling a holistic approach to environmental issues. Through strengthened industry-academia collaboration, it also focuses on cultivating student’s practical problem-solving skills. This emphasis on practicality will make students feel confident and capable of addressing real-world environmental issues.
Opened in April 2021, the course has attracted many students and business people to participate and address environmental issues. We hope that future graduates of this course become leaders in addressing global environmental problems and contribute to realizing a sustainable future.
